The Cuisinart EM-100 Coffee Maker

5 Reasons that make the Cuisinart EM-100 Coffee Maker a special machine!

1. The EM-100 comes with its own tutorial via a DVD. The DVD entertains and educates you how to use your this Cuisinart Coffee Maker. So much easier than disciplining yourself to read an instructional manual and being tempted to skip the reading and progress through trial and error!
2. The Espressos this machine produces, with quality brand of ground coffee, is of a high quality and does deliver your brew with a generous amount of crema on top for a home made cup.
3. The Frothing Jug is designed to be the size for one good latte or two cappuccinos.
4. The 15 bar pump that ensures you produce enough pressure to produce a great tasting coffee.
5. Hot Water feature allows you to produce other beverages such as tea, cocoa or other instant brews.

In addition to these five reasons why not add a 6th? The EM-100 has a warming plate on top of its sturdy and heavy unit for you to store and/or keep heated fresh brews if you’re serving a few people at a time.

Like other Cuisinart branded coffee machines this one also provide easy to use filters and also comes with a pod filter.
As with other Cuisinart machines it’s easy to clean.

For the Espresso & Coffee Connoisseur

If you’re a regular Espresso maker and used machines like this before, be assured that the Cuisinart EM-100 is a bargain at the price and competes well with more expensive brands. If you’re a connoisseur of coffee you can make wonderful tasting espresso’s at a fraction of the retail cost. Furthermore, in comparison to more expensive home models by other manufactures, the EM-100 stands on the shoulders of Coffee Making Giants!

If you’re new to domestic standard Espresso makers take care to learn about the way pressure is produced by the system to brew espressos! You need to ensure the pressure has been released after using the EM-100 before removing the ground coffee you’ve just used to brew.

Some critics of the EM-100 have said a potential design fault is that you may not be aware when using or refilling the machine that the pressure has not been released, resulting in a mini explosion covering your kitchen, and may be even you, in hot ground coffee beans!!

The Stainless Steel unit would easily look at home in a commercial outlet but also looks stylish as a modern appliance in any kitchen.

It’s designed for serious Espresso drinkers, but at a very competitive price in context to the high quality beverage it can produce. Additionally it’s very robust, mainly due to it’s weight, and like other Cuisinart machines, the EM-100 comes with their standard 3 year warranty.

The tamping process is therefore key to the quality of the coffee produced, if using ground espresso instead of pods. It is advised you tamp down the coffee in the filter basket with moderate pressure on the EM-100. Ensure you don’t overflow the filter basket. Take care to make sure you’ve tamped sufficiently to avoid the water just passing through the coffee beans too quickly and under extracting the coffee beans resulting in a flavorless brew. Alternatively if tamped too much, the ground coffee will act as a blockage and the water will pass through too slowly and the coffee flavor over extracted!

Price Range

This machine retails at around $140 to $150 mark. As with other machines we’re currently reviewing it comes heavily discounted on most websites stating savings of $100 to $130, depending on each retailer.

Summary:

The 1000 Watt 15 bar Cuisinart EM-100 Coffee Maker is ideal for the espresso connoisseur who wants quality espresso shots and a machine able to do that. Additionally the set up of the EM-100 allows the home where it is placed to make use of the system for brewing tea, cocoa and other instant hot drinks.

This machine represents a serious investment for customers who are serious about their coffee but at a price that’s relatively easy to accommodate.

Review Of The Cuisinart CHW-12 Coffee Maker

The Cuisinart CHW-12 – A Two-in-One Beverage Machine

The Cuisinart CHW-12 Coffee Maker provides a two-in-one heated beverage system that brews coffee plus it also produces hot water to brew tea, cocoa and soups with too.

It’s a fully automatic machine with Cuisinart favorite features included such as: Programmable auto ‘on’ and ‘off’ settings, carafe temperature control, 1 to 4 cup options and a self clean mechanism.

A Back lit LCD that displays a digital clock and other operational indicators such as water temperature signifier that lets you know when the water is ready to dispense and also when it’s time to refill. It furthermore tells you when it’s time for the machine to be cleaned!

The Cuisinart Brewing Expertise

The CHW12 is a dual system that enables you to use the coffee maker and the hot water system independently or together.
It is to be noted that the hot water dispenser is quite large, huge by comparison to other machines! Its capacity of 58 ounces means you rarely have to refill it especially if you’re just using it once per day.

THe Cuisinart technology applied to the CHW-12 is clever as it only keeeps about 13 ounces of the water heated and economically manages the heating process so there is no wastage of energy! From turning the machine on it takes about 3 minutes to heat up and be ready for you to brew.

12 Cup Carafe with a non-hinged lid

The glass carafe supplied with the Cuisinart CHW-12, serves up to 12 cups and has a drip-free spout. The lid on the carafe is not hinged so you don’t have the problem of it flopping around when you’re pouring. Neither does it have a flimsy hinge that could become broken with regular use.

The CHW12 package includes 2 charcoal water filters which are key to the success of many Cuisinart branded coffee machines. Along with the permanent gold tone filter, this gives a route for the freshest of coffee flavors to flow through the system to ensure your brew is of a high standard.

Other highlights of the CHW-12 model include the hot water dispenser. The Dispenser heats water to 185 degrees, whilst the Coffee Making side of the machine heats water to approx. 200 degrees, which is optimum for producing a great tasting cup of coffee.

Criticisms of the Cuisinart CHW-12 Coffee Maker

For the coffee experts, one are of dissapointment with this model, especially if you have experienced or owned a Cuisinart machine previously, is that the CHW-12 does not have a ‘coffee strength’ adjustment.

Other minor criticisms of the model include question marks against the saftely lock on the hot water side of the machine. Some reviews suggest the lever can be easily knocked off.

Additionally some new users of the CHW-12 have complained that the first time your attempt to pour water into the coffee side the angle you have to pour the water at may make you feel you’re in danger of spilling the water. THis is however where the design of the flipped up carafe lid comes to the fore.

Retail pricing of the Cuisinart CHW-12 Coffee Maker is around the $100 mark. The listed price quoted can be double this but as with many Cuisinart models a wide range of discounted offers are available from a variety of outlets both in shopping malls and online stores.

The machine measures 10.2 by 8.6 by 14.4 inches and conforms with other Cuisinart standards as it delivered with a 3 year limited warranty.

Over 50% of Reviews give the CHW-12 5 Star Rating!

Customer reviews to be found online see well over 50% of reviews giving the Cuisinart CHW-12 Coffee Maker a 5 Start rating, which means this machine is well worth considering.

Summary

In summary, the success of this machine is judged predominantly by the great tasting coffee it produces and the flexibility it gives your kitchen, with its dual function and the provision of filtered hot water for other alternative beverages.

It’s a no fuss machine that is available to serve a range of needs in your kitchen. Yes you can purchase more expensive machines that will provide a more complex brewing process. The key purpose of this machine is to serve the family quickly with coffee, tea, cocoa, soup or filtered water for other catering needs.

A Keurig B70 Review

A Keurig Platinum B70 Review – Single Brewing Coffee Machine

The Keurig B70 brews one fresh cup of gourmet coffee, tea or cocoa at a time. It makes it possible to customize the drinks you serve. Firstly this machine does not a brew a carafe of coffee that is likely to go stale or bitter, the longer it stands on the warming plate. The Keurig B70 allows you to serve whatever beverage your family or guests request!

K-Cup and Keurig – Unique Brand Partnership

As with many other Keurig devices, the B70 uses the patented the K-Cups from which you have a choice of over 200 varieties of premeasured high quality flavored coffee, tea and cocoa from an extensive range of quality branded beverages.

Versatility & Flexibility

The versatility of the B70 is one of its selling points as the machine can simply provide hot water for you to make cocoa from a packet.

Simplicity of use is another selling point. When you’re ready to brew your next cuppa all you have to do is open the Keurig B70 lid and insert the K-Cup of your choice. Close the lid and select a cup size displayed on the control panel. There are as many as five cup size options from 3.25 ounce to 9.25 ounce.

The Display panel includes a clock that allows you to programme the B70 to turn on and off at various points throughout the day. This also saves energy and your fuel bill!

Turn the Heat Up or Down

Brewing temperatures can be varied from 187 degrees F or turn up the heat to 192 degrees F.

The capacity of this machine is determined by a 60 ounce water reservoir giving you a minimum of 10 cups. The B70 also comes with a descale indicator, removable drip tray that also allows you to use travel mugs with this device.

Top of the Class – Platinum

Keurig classify this model as a Platinum Brewing system and critics claim it’s the best Keurig single-brewing system for your home. The five cup size range offering maximum flexibility to accommodate all tastes and appetites.

When setting up the machine it takes about 4 minutes for the water to be heated. As with other Keurig models it is advised you utilize the ‘small mug’ option to start a ‘cleansing’ brew to pour into the sink for your maiden brew. It’s a one time process to ensure your brews are rid of any impurities contaminating your first brews.

Retail Price Range

If you’re considering the B70 for your home, it’s an investment that may stretch many household budgets. They say quality is something you have to pay for and many reviewers of this Keurig model exhault its quality and the standard of brews it produces, via the quality range of K-Cups. It retails over the $200 mark, but as with many online retailers you are likely to get a discounted offer to purchase at below this. However don’t expect anything less than the $185 mark.

For this price however, some may see it as a bargain in that the B70 brews gourmet coffee at just a fraction of the cost in a retail outlet such as Starbucks or Coffee People. A return on investment analysis will probably see your Keurig B70 paying for itself in savings in only a few months of use!

Feedback for Keurig

One review that took our eye and our agreement mentioned that Keurig should consider including the ‘My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter’ in the packaged retailing of the brewer and not purely as an optional accessory extra. The point the reviewer made was in relation to the obvious minimal cost of this accessory that it could surely be included?

However most of our research into this machine brought positive feedback. There is a lot of love out there for the B70 and many satisfied customers and users of this classy coffee maker.

Summary:

The unique mix of the patented K-Cups and the quality of the Keurig brewers makes the Keurig B70 a machine of excellent value and this machine top of the league in the single brewer range of coffee makers.

A Review Of the Cuisinart DCC-2000 Coffee Maker

Carafe Free Coffee Maker – The Cuisinart DC2000

The Cuisinart DC2000 Coffee Maker for many is an upgrade from the DC1200.
The DC2000 brews a cup at a time and is fully programmable with a 24-hour advance brew start function, with an auto shutdown and a self clean feature.

Like other Cuisinart models it has a charcoal water filter with a permanent gold-tone filter which provides a process to produce fresh flavored coffee.
The machine measures 16.5 by 11.5 by 10.8 inches and is 9pounds in weight.

It has a coffee reservoir and a removable water reservoir enabling you to brew twelve 5-ounce cups before refilling.

This Cuisinart model has a stylish brushed stainless steel outer casing, presenting itself as a clean contemporary cut coffee machine.
Some reviews appear to dislike the feature of brewing coffee without a carafe, but the capacity of the water reservoir means there is no real need for this facility.
You simply ‘press to serve’ when you need a cup dispensing from the maker and you receive a freshly brewed cup of coffee.
Additionally the coffee gauge on the front of the machine clearly indicates the number of cups remaining. Also the DC2000 has a visible water-level indicator, along with easy to use controls and a clock.

The instruction manual is easy to read and charcoal water filter is included in the start up pack.

As with most Cuisinart models, the DC2000 comes with the protection of a 3-year warranty.

The Cuisinart DC2000 v The Cuisinart DC1200?

A carafe fee coffee maker is not new to the market as brands such as Faberware have been around many years.
For many the DC2000′s key feature is simply the ease at which you just press a button for your next cup of coffee, rather than prepare a carafe for 12 or smaller servings.
Many reviews suggest that brewing a cup on demand ensures the coffee brew is delivered at a more consistent temperature than pouring from a carafe prepared may be 30mins ago.
That is not to suggest the DC1200 is unable to keep its brew at a constant temperature, but to simply point out that producing a freshly brewed coffee on demand has its advantages re its freshness of both the coffee and the heated water used.

The DC2000 is arguably more efficient, less waste by producing cup by cup, than assessing the use of a full or smaller carafe serving from the DC1200.
More importantly the DC2000 doesn’t give you the occasional cup that tastes burnt or ‘aged’ / ‘stale’ because it’s been heated continually for the last hour as you finish off earlier cups from the same brewing cycle.
Both the DC2000 and the DC1200 make incredible cups of coffee, of a standard you’d expect in a branded quality retail outlet.

Some criticisms of the DC2000, in comparison to its younger model the DC1200, is that you will need a separate container to fill the water reservoir. But it’s not a difficult task.

Cleaning either machine is easy too and no different to cleaning a machine with a carafe. With the DC2000 you simply remove the inner carafe to rinse it out.

Other Cuisinart Reviews

The DC1200 is for some of Cuisinart devotees the ‘mother-ship’ of Coffee Makers and therefore some reviews are less favourable in response to the differing features that the DC2000 offers.

Some critical reviews have questioned how robust this model is against the reliability of the DC1200. This appears to be mainly from DC1200 owners or people have preferred this model to the DC2000.

Like the DC1200 this model provides you with options for the home or work place. In both cases Cuisinart provide a mechanism that produces quality flavored coffee that is easy to produce and a machine that is easy to maintain and keep clean for its every day purpose.

Summary

The question is therefore ‘coffee via carafe or not via carafe?’

Convention of many of the lovers of the DC1200 is to serve their coffee from a carafe yet the DC2000 provides a fresher and hotter alternative.
Coffee on demand – cup by cup.
Both Cuisinart models reputations are to be upheld. I suspect if either model is your first experience of a Cuisinart Coffee Maker, your first experience will be a good one.
If you do progress to own both models at some time, we’d be interested in your opinions as to which is the preferred machine.

In the meantime, we are happy to recommend the Cuisinart DC2000 as a coffee maker of repute!

Is The Delonghi EC702 Worth A Look?

Is the Delonghi EC702 worth a look?

The answer to this question is a definite yes!

Cafe House Quality Espressos, Cappuccinos & Lattes

The Delonghi EC702 espresso maker makes cafe house quality espressos, cappuccinos and lattes in your own home and is easy to use.
The EC702 has a durable stainless steel boiler that produces shots of espresso with a thick layer of crema.
A key feature of this Delonghi model is the dual function filter holder that can accommodate two separate attachments.
The Sempre Crema Filter for brewing with ground coffee or the E.S.E Filter with pods. Also this machine gives you a two size filter option for either a single or double shot of espresso.

A look at the EC702 also highlights the two separate thermostats for brewing and steaming at the right temperatures. In addition to this
it has an adjustable frother that mixes the steam and the milk to create a rich creamy froth to top off your cappuccino, latte or any other frothy milky beverage you wish to brew.

The EC702 also has a self priming operation so you don’t have to spend time when starting up the machine to prepare it for brewing.

Capacity

The 44 ounce water tank, storage tray for warming up cups to be ready to use, a large removable drip tray to make it
easy to clean up provides means the capacity of the EC702 is one not to be frowned at. The Italian designed machine is 8.2 b 12.8 inches and is protected by the standard Delonghi warranty of one year.

How best to use your DeLonghi EC702

There are many debates and variables to consider when brewing coffee. Using a machine like the EC702 will present questions like – how long should I let the pump run? What is a proper warm up duration for the machine? What type of coffee is best suited to the EC702?
How long should I grind the coffee beans?, How much should you compact the coffee?

When reading the reviews of the Delonghi EC702 I’ve been impressed with comments that say that users have not experienced problems. As with any brewing equipment it’s always advisable to keep it clean and with tender loving care the EC702 will consistently provide you with quality brews that you’d expect from an up-market cafe. The machine comes with a bottle of descaler.

Additionally for those of you who require a Coffee Maker to not only do a good job but look good too, then you’ll be pleased with the image the EC702 espresso maker. It’s all silver, that is mostly metal and does not display any ‘black plastic’ that some interior design experts frown at!

Other reviews of the EC702 also provide positive feedback regarding the warming tray. Many recommend you also warm up the machine for 15 minutes before brewing.

For first time use it’s advised that you allow for the first 5/6 cups to break in the system. Some reviewers refer to their first five or so cups tasting vile! or metallic… but that it’s to be expected!
Experienced Delonghi customers therefore advise that you use a less expensive brand off coffee to break the machine in, instead of wasting the more expensive and quality brands on this process. The first few cups will permeate the filters and allow flavor of future brews to not be masked by the newness of the mechanism.

Additional Tips:

Many advise that purchasing an external tamper will also help keep the machine clean. Terry’s Tamper, available on amazon, is recommended as a perfect size for the DeLonghi filter and thus you can save the expense of a higher priced one.

The coffee you use for espresso machines is key to the quality of the flavor brewed. Therefore ensure you buy very fine grinds of coffee. You can also purchase pre-ground for brewing espressos. Remember the better the grind the better the shot of espresso!

Summary:

The DeLonghi EC702 espresso maker is a coffee maker with many recommendations and its reputation is one to be reckoned with!

The price range is usually discounted below $200 and in some cases as little as $160 range. Listed price is often over $300 but it’s rare the retailer, shop or online, will ask for the full listed price.

So our conclusion? The Delonghi EC702 is definitely worth a look if not a place in your kitchen!

The Keurig B60 Special Edition

The Keurig B60 Coffee Maker is designed for a busy lifestyle. With the easy k-pods you simply push a button and you have a drink within 30 seconds. Speed is not the only key feature of the B60 as it produced great tasting coffee and tea.

K-Pods v Grinding

The K-pods are simple and clean to use with no mess or mishap of pods exploding. It looks cool and will impress visitors. Additionally you can have fun choosing the flavor of your beverage, there are so many to chose from.

I did a lot of research before buying the Keurig B60 and was originally put off by not being able to make a pot of coffee, but was impressed by being able to make cup by cup within seconds so the need for a pot, like me, may not be your requirement.

So what do you get when you buy the Keurig B60 Special Edition Coffee Maker?

  • It’s a 1500-watt single cup brewing mechanism
  • Able to brew coffee, tea or cocoa
  • The system uses patented Keurig K-Cups (relieving the need to grind coffee beans)
  • Brewing options allowing you to chose 3 different size cups – 5.25, 7.25 and 9.25 ounce servings
  • Descale Indicator
  • Water Reservoir – 48 ounce with removable drip tray

*To get the B60 into action, it requires 4minutes of priming and then it’s ready to brew.

So where does the Keurig B60 Special Edition Brewing System rate in the wider market place?

The B60 is can be confidently considered as a mid range in luxury coffee brewing systems with its blend of convenient features. It looks cool in most modern kitchens or small office environments with its back lit LCD display that indicate the three brew size options. These programmable options include a digital clock and a display of the adjustable temperature.

During the priming/start up procedures the LCD will display a red light to indicate the system is heating up. Once the water is heated up and the system is ready to brew, the red light will turn itself off and the ‘small mug’ icon will flash.

When you first install your B60 in the home, to ensure cleanliness and enable the B60 to give you the best tasting brew it is then recommended that you commence with a ‘cleansing brew’. Following the display of the ‘small mug’ icon, pour the hot water out, and then refill the water reservoir and reheat the water.

Now it’s time to place in your first k-pod for your first brew. This is a one time only set up process.

When refilling the water reservoir, the brewer will take about 15 seconds to reheat. The LCD will display a red light next to ‘heating’ icon and turn itself off again when the machine is ready to produce again.

So why chose Keurig’s B60?

The Keurig customer service is second to none!
Any problems you have with your machine can be resolved quickly by the 24/7 Customer Service team. The Keurig Assistants are available to resolve almost any problem. Whether it’s an issue in setting up the machine or a function enquiry they’re available to answer your questions.

They’re also available to register the machine in your name, rather than you having to send off the warranty. So if you’re buying this as a gift you can register it simply and even before you give the B60 as a present.

The variety of Keurig K-cups is also a major feature of this machine. Some reviews compare this machine to others such as Tassimo or Senseo ranges, but most conclude the range of k-cups tipping the balance to choosing the Keurig range.

Summary

The Keurig B60 Special Edition brewer is a machine that provides you with a quick and easy to use single cup brewer. Not restricted to a single beverage, you can have coffee, tea or cocoa with the multi option of tastes provided by the hundreds of K-cup pods available, this is a multi flexible machine to meet a wide variety of brewing needs.

A recommendation for sure!

The Delonghi EC155 Reviewed

The DeLonghi EC155 15 Bar Pump Espresso and Cappuccino Maker is the first of the De’Longhi range we’ve reviewed on this site.

Designed in Italy the ECC155 has vital statistics of 7-1/2 by 9-1/2 by 11-1/8 inches, has a 35 ounce removable water tank which is easy to clean and practical to fill.

The capacity of the water tank allowing you to make between 8 to 10 cups before you need to refill the machine.

There is also a transparent section behind the basket which shows you the level of water remaining in the tank.

A removable drip tray and an indicator light to denote if the machine is turned on or off by the mains control switch.

A key to the success of EC155 Espresso maker is that is it is equipped with two thermostats which control the steam and water pressures seprately. This further enables the machine to make either espresso or cappuccino at the perfect temperature for both types of brew.

This model looks efficient with in it’s black and silver metal outer casing.

It’s compact and durable and comes with the protection of a 1 year warranty.

Dual Functioning Filter

The filter is a key feature to making this coffee maker stand out from the rest in its price range. The unique patented dual filter is easy to clean

Espresso

The De’Longhi EC155 is a 15-bar pump driven device with a durable stainless steel broiler. A dual functioning filter accommodates both ground espresso and ESE pods.

The filter’s role in making the perfect espresso is to mix hair into the process of brewing the coffee beans that produces a perfect crema. This is distinguished by the authentic espresso caramel color produced by this process. It’s worth noting that the space between teh grounds basket to the tray is only approx. 2-1/2 inches so using a smaller espresso cup is more practical with this machine.

Cappuccino

The De’Longhi EC155 with its swivel jet frother enables the preparation of an excellent cappuccino and eliminates any need for preparation with the self priming operation. The EC155′s adjustable swivel jet frother mixes steam and milk to create the rich creamy froth.

The machine has a fast heat-up time and a good frothing wand. This means you can have little or nil delay between the frothing and the brewing process. It’s worth noting that the Frothing wand is only around 3-1/4 inches so a frothing cup of approx. the same size is advisable.

De’Longhi Reputation

The EC155 is reviewed positively by many of it’s owners. Quotes such as:

“You will end up drinking more espresso than you mean to, it’s that good!”

“…..decided on this one (EC155) based on its outstanding reviews and great price.”

“The DeLonghi EC155 is an excellent budget machine found for under $100 that is pump driven. I was happy with my old steam driven DeLonghi, but once received this I realized that I didn’t even know what I was missing!”

are sure to impress any prospective buyer!

Built in Pump Drive

If you do your research on espresso machines you’ll learn that quality, in terms of the type of machine you purchase, is defined not just by price but by the inclusion of a pump drive.

Pump driven machines hit pressures that are as much as five times greater than steam driven machines. The pump driven machine, like the EC155, extracts a much better flavour from the espresso grinds.

The are only type of coffee making machine that is capable of creating the chremea foam for the top of your espresso.

Tips to get the best from your EC155

If you’re accustomed to using pod coffee, perhaps another feature of the De’Longhi EC155 is that it is ESE certified, meaning you can use ESE pods and not need to grind and tamp your coffee beans to get a shot.

The Senseo style pods will not work on this machine as they are larger than the ESE certified ones.

Another tip to get the best from your EC155 coffee maker is to pre-heat the unit for around 15 minutes and warming the cups before hand also improves the overall espresso or cappuccino experience.

Indeed one criticism of the machine is that it does not have a cup warming facility.

It’s further advisable that the type of coffee you purchase is a brand that is especially made for making espresso coffee. A bit like purchasing a quality car and then not taking notice of the quality of oil you lubricate the engine with.

Summary

The EC155 comes highly recommended from various happy owners. It represents value for money in that it produces a quality cup of espresso or cappuccino without the expense of a higher grade model.

It’s easy to use and maintain and quick off the mark to give you a shot of espresso at a moments notice.

The Cuisinart DGB-900BC Reviewed

The Cuisinart DGB-900BC Fully Automatic Burr Grind and Brew Thermal Coffee Maker provides you with the means to make a superior flavored cup of coffee. The DGB-900BC enables you to brew newly ground fresh coffee. The flavor strength is something you can determine via easy to use controls. This Coffee Maker also has a thermal carafe that enables you to keep your coffee hot and fresh for hours.

The DGB-900BC facilitates the making up to 12 cups of expertly brewed coffee. Like many other Cuisinart brewing machines it is equipped with a 24 hour in built program to determine when and how your DGB-900BC works for you.

Built-In Burr Grinder

The key feature highlighted in many DGB-900BC reviews is the built-in Burr Grinder. The grinder automatically grinds beans just before you brew your coffee which means it’s a fresh as it can be! The grind control program is easy to manage and decide how much coffee to grind, to determine the strength of flavor and amount of coffee needed for the number of cups required. Min. brew 2 cups.

The Cuisinart DGB-900BC has a bean hopper that holds up to half a pound of coffee beans and is also equipped with a sealed lid preventing the contamination of moisture. Further features to protect the brewing process is an auto shut off after brewing plus a grind-off option. Like other Cuisinart models it also has a smaller brew capacity feature, to simply brew 2 to 4 cups.

Flavor Control

Flavor control is further enhanced by a Gold tone commercial standard filter, along with a charcoal water filter to remove impurities from the water you use for your brewing process.

Flexibility to meet a variety of lifestyle approaches to coffee making are another regular feature of the Cuisinart Coffee Maker range and with the DGB-900BC you are able to pause the brewing process to grab a quick cup before serving the rest of the family, friends or work colleagues.

The 12 cup capacity of the DGB-900BC relates to a cup size of 5 ounces.

The Thermal Carafe is double wall insulated, sealing the heat and the flavor equally meaning the first cup you serve is a fresh and hot as the last one you serve!

Maximize the Flavor from Freshly Ground Coffee Beans

Cuisinart believe this machine is a tool to take you on a journey and a quest for the perfect Espresso.

One of the key processes to achieve this is the grinding of the coffee, which is seen as critical for the proper flavor extraction from the coffee beans. It’s generally agreed that should the grind of your coffee be too fine, there is likely to be an excess of flavor extraction resulting in a bitter tasting coffee brew. Additionally this may also result in a clogging of the water filter and subsequently this will also effect the flavor of future brews!

On the other extreme, should the grind be too coarse, the water will pass through the system too quickly and a minimum of flavor will be extracted from the grounded coffee beans. The Cuisinart DGB-900BC Automatic Burr Grind and Brewer has a default setting to execute a medium grind, which is recommended as one to provide you with the perfect flavor extraction.

If you also have pre-ground coffee you can also brew with the DGB-900BC, just simply turn off the Grind function and you can still enjoy a quality brewed and hot cup of coffee.

This unit comes with an instructional DVD, much more entertaining than a product manual and easier to follow!

What do other DGB-900BC reviews say about the product?

“Awesome Coffee! Was grinding my first pot of coffee within minutes of opening the box!!”

“I love this coffee maker, I’ve had a lot of machines, but none can top this one for the freshness and taste of the coffee”

“It grinds, it brews, it’s programmable – how much more can you ask for?”

When researching this product, a search for DGB-900BC reviews also brought up a few critical of the product, some from customers who had previously had other Cuisinart models and preferred their previous machine.
